City Road Work

UPDATE - The City of San Jose has contracted MCK Services Inc., to repair and repave Blossom Ave from Santa Teresa Blvd to Blossom Hill Rd. We will be repaving Blossom Ave between August 14 – 16. The contractor will start work at 8:30 a.m., once school has begun. The contractor will start by setting up traffic control. The traffic control plan is to allow traffic to flow in one lane for the north bound direction and another lane for the south bound direction. The Contractor will start paving on the Santa Teresa Blvd end and work north towards Blossom Hill Rd. Based on prior experience the contractor will be working in the northern section of Blossom Ave, once school is dismissed. During the pickup time of 2:30 p.m. motorist will be able to enter & exit the middle school. For questions, please contact the city at 408-592-9080. The City of San Jose is repaving Blossom Avenue through August 20th. No parking and/or drop offs are allowed on Blossom Avenue per the City of San Jose. Students should walk, ride bike and/or be dropped off along Santa Teresa or Shawnee. The construction will impact drop off and pick-ups significantly, please plan accordingly.

Schedule Pick Up

New students will receive their schedules at orientation on August 8th. Continuing students will be able to pick up their schedules on Friday, August 11th from 9am-11am at the counseling door.

Immigration Enforcement Actions at Schools

On January 26, 2017 the Board of Trustees adopted a Resolution Affirming Support of Students & Families Regarding Immigration Enforcement Actions at Schools in order to stand behind a strong unified message to ensure our schools are safe havens for students. Our District is concerned about the safety and security of our region’s immigrant youth and families and wishes to express support for all students and families of Oak Grove School District.

Netflix's "13 Reasons Why" Information

Parents and guardians should be aware about a new television series with a sensitive theme that is expected to be popular with teenagers. The series is based on a 2007 bestselling novel with the same Netflix title, "Thirteen Reasons Why." The topics covered in this book are: adolescent bullying, rejection, heartbreak, sexual assault, abuse, revenge, depression, and desperate but unsuccessful efforts to find help or understanding. These topics are depicted as many of the reasons for the character's suicide at the end of the series. Series like this can be difficult to watch and could trigger feelings of distress in viewers.

LCAP Stakeholder Input Results

We would like to thank the Oak Grove community and staff for their input to the 2017-18 Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). On May 11, the Board of Trustees received a presentation regarding the survey results. You can see that presentation by clicking above. The 2017-18 LCAP Draft was presented to the Board of Trustees on May 25. Final approval from the Board of Trustees would be at the next Board meeting.
